The Soil Life Stands Upon
The soil beneath our feet
Is a treasure we can’t repeat
It sustains us and all life
But we treat it like a knife
We plow and till and dig
Leaving it exposed and big
We drain its moisture and its health
Until it’s just a barren shelf
But the soil is not a toy
To use and destroy
It’s the foundation of our world
And it must be preserved and unfurled
So let’s cherish and protect
This precious resource, let’s not neglect
For without healthy soil
Our future is bleak and toil
So let’s be mindful of what we sow
And work to preserve the soil below
For a better world for all
We must rise and stand tall
